And I like it like that, it makes me feel like this…

Hot Patsyfox sketch

For those of us in Melbourne today, it’s stinking out there.  What is it – a hundred degrees??  I can tell you that the only thing separating me from the tonic in my fridge and the gin on my shelf until now has been the fact I needed to draw something to go with these short words, and it’s the lament of my life that I can’t drink and draw.

But back to the heat… So after 3 hours of life drawing during which even the model almost melted – and she was naked – I headed off to the paper sale at Neil’s.  Driving through the streets of Fitzroy and wondering why the hell I was in such a good mood when actually my fingers were fusing to the red-hot steering wheel, I suddenly realised that as far as the eye could see there were naked male torsos.  So thank you Budda/Allah/God/Muccia Prada or whoever it is that brings us the kind of hot weather that compels Australian men to take off their tops, thank you very much.

Now if only it was acceptable for us laydees to take off our tops in the heat too.  Oh hang on, that would be like those dreams I have over and over again where I’m walking down the street and suddenly realise I forgot to put a top on. (Feel free to interpret this dream for me – it’s clearly trying to tell me something.)

Amen to that sweetie! The drive to and from the new office down Beaconsfeild Pde is SO much better with topless men – I am smellin’ what you’re cooking, Mz Rehe!!

Heeee! Oh nice new way to work! I guess that makes up for not seeing the cute coffee boy any more? I tell you, there’s not much to rubber-neck over on the walk up my hallway to the studio. : /

I dont know where you are spotting these good looking men with no shirts – the only ones I seem to see are the slightly more ‘unsavoury’ types parading around with chest hair on display 😉

As for life drawing – would you mind telling me where you go? If it’s not a uni class that is. I am looking into joining a class myself at some point and am currently researching where to go. Thanks a lot! 😀

Ha ha, well on this particular day the hunks’o’burnin love were all in Fitzroy, around Brunswick st, so there you go – get thee down there on the next stinking hot day! Unfortunately Fitzroy is also the home of the men who would not put water on you if you were on fire (busy posing).

As for life drawing, I’ve just done some research to find a new place as mine stops for summer etc, and is tiny. One of the models put me onto 2 around Northcote: Union st Westgarth (Wed night) – Liz 0418 397840. and 557 high st Northcote (thurs night) Adrian 0422 409946. Hope that helps. : )
