It’s a girl!

by Patsyfox on February 25, 2011

You may remember the agonising decision I’ve been faced with of late – Is-it-2-is-it-1-if-it’s-1-which-one? etc.

Well after much vote-counting, which saw “BOTH” the clear winner, a last-minute visit to the pet store saw one in particular stare into my eyes and pretty much hypnotise me – gulp. Ladies and gentlemen – It’s a girl!!

Meet Frankie, who now that she’s home, appears to think I’m the scary monster from the deep, because up until 2 nights ago, this is all I’d seen of her (apart from when I hunted her down Alby Mangels style).  Look very closely……

Here’s a hint – what you’re looking for is this ridiculously adorable (and terrified)  little face…

What changed in the last 2 days is the result of a stressed visit to the pet store – enter kitten toys and kitten treats!  My lounge room now looks like a kitten creche with all the love-buying toys you could imagine, but at least I’m getting my share of kitten-love.  Success!

Now I just have to deal with the fact that ginger has been left on the shelf at the pet store….Enter guilt.

oh, congratulations!! Looking forward to lots more crazy cat lady type posts in the weeks, months, and years to come! (and you do know that cats love balled up newspaper or string as much if not more than expensive kitten toys, yes?)

don’t feel guilty about the ginger man… he’ll be just what the doctor ordered for some other family (or hipster couple like us). Congratulations on a safe arrival of your new little miss.

aawwwwww – I have a cat just like Frankie that lives with my mum – Columbia – named after Rocky Horror Picture show. She’ll come out eventually.

Ah yes, I will get going on the handmade toys – thank you! Remarkably, after having someone else feed her for the weekend while I was away at the wedding, I’m suddenly seeming not so bad, and I’m getting my fair share of kitten love – gotta love that!

Thanks! And thanks for the guilt pardon, argh. I’ll check on him this week just in case….

Ah yes, it appears absence made the heart fonder and I almost have a fan. Aaaawwwww. I do think sitting on my face while I’m sleeping is a little creepy though : /

You should have got the ginger. As you know, I have one & she was very easy to train. She feeds me twice a day, buys me toys & I have finally got her out of the habit of brushing me. I let her sleep in my bed & sometimes I sit on her lap as a special treat.

She’s already sleeping on your face? It took my cat about 17 years before she’d get into bed with me, but now she walks on my face or nibbles at my head if I don’t let her in under the covers with me!

Ha ha, she is, but don’t be fooled – I rubbed that cat crack chicken jerky into every pore and for that, she thinks I am walking nirvana 🙂 Never was a better $90 spent than on those toys and treats.

I’ve heard your ginger can be quite difficult….?

Dear Fourth Daughter,
Don’t die. That cat of yours is just practising to remove your face, if you should ever (God forbid) pass into the afterlife at 2am all alone on a dark and rainy night.
She could potentially feast on your corpse for a month before eventually going insane and electrocuting herself by chewing the wires under the fridge.

Yours,
CFWAA
