Many happy returns

by Patsyfox on January 8, 2012

Like many of my other New Year’s resolutions, my commitment to debt repayment is wobbly at best.  But my iron will has never shone through brighter than the day I returned this Diane Von Furstenberg dress I bought after stalking it for 3 months.  I’m pretty sure there was a tear in my eye as I walked home from the post office, and anyone present could tell you the guy at the desk did have to wrench the parcel out of my hands.

Iron will aside though, the sad truth is that the dress on my doorstep was the commercialised version of the runway look, and it just didn’t look as smoking on me as the model.  Quelle surprise!

Sigh, how are your New Year resolutions faring?

After over a year of procrastination, I have signed up for drawing salon classses, and feel great pride in gathering my derwents, brushes etc. One coffee a day resolution, not so good – this is Melbourne! No buying shoes,I got a voucher for Chrissy,so not my fault alone! Big wins, small defeats!!

I love that! Breaking one-coffee-a-day can be justified not just by living in Melbourne but with the expression live a little!, though that’s a much over-used expression on my part : /

Signing up for classes makes up for any others that aren’t kept, definitely!

November??!! Back on the horse for you – just draw something – anything, then you’re back. Your drawings are too gorgeous to slow down : )

As for the dress, yes it was that moment that I realised I was serious about my finances! Being a grown up can be so dull.
