Saints and sinners

On more than one occasion*, I’ve been accused of being dismissive and disinterested.  What can I say?  I don’t suffer bores!  Then there are the other occasions where I meet someone and cling like velcro.  The day I met Christine St Clair, we shook hands and I saw the twinkle in her eye and a whiff of a wicked sense of humour and knew I’d found a kindred spirit, and that was that.  We were teaching the same class at RMIT one day per week, and frantically working on our lofty plans the other six.  When her very well-kept secret mission came to fruition, not even my post-India sinus-plague could keep me from attending the opening celebration.  A talented, canny woman with a sharp eye that misses nothing, brava.  Comme Des Garçons Pocket opened over a year ago at 2 Rankins Lane in the city, a discreet location for a little piece of heaven.  It’s the first Comme Des Garçons store ever in Australia, and stocks the Play line from the brand, which as it would happen, is all the fun stuff.

I have visited exactly four times – not much you say?  Because I haven’t yet left without buying something!  4 visits = 4 clutches.  Same clutch, different colours.  I hate handbags!  And this is the perfect clutch – perfect. Big enough for your evening essentials – phone, money, keys, lipstick, tissues (what – You’ve never been caught with no toilet paper?), small enough to hold while you dance the night away, without looking like a dick. Perfection.  Gluttony is a sin, but sometimes it just makes sense.

(*gross understatement)
