It’s come to my attention only in recent years that I appear calm on the surface even while ten thousand thoughts are flying through my brain – who would have thought it?! I learned this through my last couple of roles working as a fashion designer, when altercations happened between myself and my bosses, who apparently thought I didn’t seem stressed enough given the high pressure situation. Really? I thought, because I’ve grown a hernia bigger than the tumour they removed from Steve McQueen (7 pounds if you’re wondering). It was a mystery without answer for me that they could not see I was on the edge.
And so it might appear now that I’m not doing much, not running any classes, letting it all go, when in fact I’m like the proverbial duck with my legs going flat out under the surface. I am in full swing working – finally – on my first (and mega) online fashion illustration course. It’s going to be great and I have no hesitation saying that. I’m giving it my all, and I have a LOT to give. The course is written and I’m currently working on all the visual material, which is huge. But in the last week I have felt the big wheel starting to gain momentum and I’m on a roll with it. I did the above sketch as an example of something I’ll be talking about. She’s so Frenchy, no?
There is still so much to do, not least is building a new Drawing Salon website which will host the course and so much more. Yikes. One bite at a time…
