I love it when worlds collide: coffee + drawing = happy me. So when I was asked by Westfield to create an illustration to be printed on limited edition coffee cups for their Fashion Saturday last weekend, I was a little happy.

There’s a bunch of people around this country opening artful gifts this xmas commissioned from me, and just possibly the ink won’t be quite dry… It’s been that sort of year. What can I say? They may have been picked up on the 11th day of Xmas but at least they made it!
Have a great Xmas everyone and if Xmas isn’t your thing then have a great break, eats lots of your favourite things, and do some unnecessary online shopping – or is that just my idea of a perfect day?
I take research for any freelance job seriously. Never more so than when creating a series of illustrations for Magnum icecream’s 25th birthday celebrations. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been so consumed and consumed so much chocolate in all my chocolate-loving life. Tough days at the office. Not!
Some jobs fit like a glove and are instantly relatable. The beauty illustration featuring a gorgeous well-groomed woman with immaculate make-up and nails, commissioned by Jetstar magazine, was not one of them. The commission where they needed an illustration to match the story about people who hoard old make-up and keep it in a mess, however, was a perfect match. I simply walked down to the bathroom, grabbed an armful out of the drawer, dumped it on my drawing table and drew it. Voila!
